Windows Live Writer – Amazon Quick Link Plugin

This is my first attempt a Plugin for Windows Live Writer so go easy!

This plug allows you quickly add plain text affiliate links into your blog posts. The Plugin assumes you have already installed the Amazon Quick Linker Widget into your pages. This is basically some JavaScript code added to the footer of your site. When you then construct links using special attributes the JavaScript will handle the linking through with your affiliate ID.

This version of the Plugin supports 3 of the 4 link types. These are:

  • Quick Search Results: Takes the highlighted text and creates a link to the Amazon search results page for the text.
  • Search Results: Same as above but allows you to enter custom text for the link.
  • Direct Product: Allows you to link directly to a product using the Amazon ASIN code.
